Joel Fazende

Joel’s design journey began at LSU, where he studied landscape architecture. But interior design called - in the form of a meeting with Dixon Smith herself. Guided by Dixon and inspired by the innovations and style of famous designers Sister Parrish and Albert Hadley, Joel began a career in interior design that has spanned decades. 

Joel's design approach centers on quality, comfort, and style, prioritizing investment in fine fabrics and quality pieces. He is always an advocate for designing with high-quality foundational elements in a room before embracing fleeting trends. His design aesthetic is a blend of traditional and classic elements, with a touch of contemporary pieces. One room that Joel loves to work with is the master bedroom. He loves to watch clients find unexpected joy in finally having balanced and nurturing bedroom that becomes a true personal oasis from the stresses of life.

Final staging is usually Joel’s favorite part of any project. He loves anticipating a client’s spontaneous reaction to seeing all the elements of a newly-designed space for the very first time.
