Dixon Smith Interiors designer Joel Fazende designed this project for a busy young family of 7 in Lake Charles, La. These repeat clients wanted an overall traditional southern look for their new home, inside and out. They also wanted to go with a softer, natural color palette of blues and greens, but with pops of warmer colors throughout. They asked Joel to help them choose furniture, accents and decor, custom drapery, bedding, and more. Joel made fabric and color choices that ensured this family didn’t have to sacrifice style in this home with five young children in it; he thoughtfully chose sturdier fabrics, for example, in high-traffic areas. In the home’s outdoor living and entertainment areas, Joel made sure to supply plenty of comfortable seating in sturdy, family-friendly fabrics in inviting colors.
